Preparing your workspace…

Choose a file-size budget.

Keep the original format by default, or explicitly choose an output format. Files already below the target are returned unchanged. PNG transparency is preserved unless you choose JPEG. Lossy searches stop at a 60% encoder quality floor; compare fine details before using your result.

Guided workflows.

A few simple steps.

  1. 01

Choose a JPEG, PNG or static WebP image.

  2. 02

Set a maximum file size in decimal KB and choose the output format.

  3. 03

Compress, compare the actual size and download your image.

INPUTJPEG, PNG, static WebP
OUTPUTJPEG, PNG, WebP when supported

Good to know.

  • KB means 1,000 bytes. A target is a maximum, not an exact padded size.
  • JPEG and WebP use bounded quality search. PNG has no lossy quality slider; choose a lossy format when needed.
  • Dimensions stay unchanged. Some targets cannot be met without resizing or stronger quality loss.

A little more clarity.

Can you guarantee any target size?

No. If a target cannot be met at the quality floor, the smallest result is offered with a clear warning. Resize the image or raise the target.

Does my image leave my device?

The tool processes selected images in your browser. It does not upload them to our servers.
