INPUTJPEG, PNG, static WebP
OUTPUTJPEG, PNG, WebP when supported
Good to know.
- JPEG does not support transparency. Transparent areas use your selected background.
- HEIC, SVG, RAW, TIFF, AVIF inputs and animated images are not supported. AVIF output is offered only when the actual browser encoder produces verified AVIF bytes.
- The actual encoder output is verified so a fallback PNG is never mislabeled as WebP.
A little more clarity.
Which format should I choose?
JPEG suits photographs, PNG preserves transparency without lossy compression, and WebP often offers smaller files with transparency.
Will converting improve image quality?
No. A conversion changes the encoding; it cannot restore detail already lost.
