Compress an image to 50 KB

Prepare a small image for a form with a strict upload limit. A 50 KB budget is tight: a small portrait or simple graphic is a more realistic starting point than a full-resolution photograph.

Preparing your workspace…

Prepare the right image.

Check the form’s required pixel dimensions first. Resize a copy to those dimensions before compression; otherwise detail outside the required display size wastes your byte budget. Keep the original for other uses.

Know the limits.

Detailed photos may not fit within 50,000 bytes at the 60% quality floor. If that happens, the tool labels the target as not reached. It never silently shrinks dimensions or changes your file format.

Process privately.

Selected files stay on your device. Use the preview to compare the result before downloading. Keep an original copy for later edits and verify the receiving website’s format and dimension requirements separately.

Common questions

Can every image reach this target?

No. Detailed or high-resolution files may exceed the selected target at the quality floor. Raise the target or resize a copy first; the tool does not silently change dimensions or formats.
