Transparency and compatibility.
A JPEG source is opaque. Conversion does not create a transparent background. WebP encoding must be available in this browser.
Selected images remain on your device. Output MIME and signatures are verified; a browser fallback is an error, never a renamed file.
Common questions.
Does this change image dimensions?
No. Conversion keeps the decoded dimensions. Use the Image Resizer to change pixels first.
Can I upload an animated image?
No. Animated PNG and WebP are rejected, and GIF is outside the input matrix. This prevents accidental loss of animation.
Do I need an account or upload my file?
No account is required. Processing happens in a local worker, with no image-upload endpoint or remote fallback.
