Resize Image to 1920x1080

A 1920 × 1080 canvas is a 16:9 landscape composition. It is useful when a slide, video graphic or desktop layout explicitly asks for these pixels; it is not a universal upload requirement.

Preparing your workspace…

Prepare a widescreen image

A portrait source leaves large side borders with Contain. Use Cover only when losing the top and bottom is acceptable, and inspect faces and embedded text. For an existing 16:9 photo, the image can fill the canvas without shape distortion.

Create the exact canvas deliberately

Width and height are preselected to 1920 × 1080 pixels. Upload a JPG, PNG or static WebP image, leave aspect-ratio locking off for the fixed canvas and choose Contain, Cover or Stretch. Contain adds padding; Cover center-crops; Stretch distorts. Upscaling needs your explicit permission when either output edge exceeds the source.

Dimensions, bytes and transparency

The output format and quality determine byte size, which is separate from the selected pixel count. PNG or supported WebP can retain transparency; enable transparent padding when needed. JPEG uses the chosen background. Inputs stay local, with a 25 MiB / ten-megapixel input limit. Download a new copy and inspect it before replacing your original.

Common questions

Does this crop my image automatically?

The initial Contain mode retains the whole image and may add borders. Choose Cover if you deliberately want a center crop.

Will the result meet an upload site's KB limit?

Pixel dimensions alone do not guarantee a byte size. Use Image Compressor afterward and check the destination's actual requirements.
