AVIF to JPG Converter

Make a JPG copy of a static AVIF image for software that does not accept AVIF. Input is verified as AVIF and JPG output is preselected; unsupported decoding returns an error instead of a mislabeled file.

Preparing your workspace…

Choose the JPEG background first

JPEG is lossy and has no alpha channel. Select a background color for transparent areas, adjust quality and review edges on the preview. JPG can be useful for photo-oriented destinations, but conversion cannot recreate detail missing from the AVIF.

Static AVIF support is conditional

The browser must decode the selected AVIF profile through its image API. Animated AVIF sequences and files whose dimensions cannot be safely verified are rejected. The tool bounds encoded bytes and decoded dimensions before output; it does not promise HDR, wide-gamut, gain-map or original metadata preservation.

Convert locally and verify the result

Choose up to ten files, at most 25 MiB each and 50 MiB / twenty megapixels combined, choose settings and start conversion. Each output gets a real size, preview and individual download. If this browser cannot decode your file, use a current compatible browser or convert it in trusted desktop software; no server fallback uploads the image.

Common questions

Is AVIF output support required?

No. This page decodes AVIF input and encodes JPEG or PNG. AVIF encoding is a separate browser capability.

Can I convert an animated AVIF?

No. This workflow explicitly rejects AVIF sequences and supports static images only.
