Remove EXIF from PNG

Create a cleaned PNG copy with PNG input and output selected. This workflow re-encodes the decoded image and checks the targeted output metadata structure before releasing a download.

Preparing your workspace…

PNG metadata is more than EXIF

PNG may store EXIF, text chunks, timestamps and color profiles. The cleanup keeps only the output image's essential IHDR, PLTE, tRNS, IDAT and IEND chunks. Alpha transparency can remain, but application metadata and profile information are deliberately removed.

Export a verified copy

Choose a static PNG up to 25 MiB and ten megapixels. PNG does not expose lossy quality control. Run cleanup, wait for verification and download the new file. A failed verification does not release an unverified cleaned output.

Metadata removal is not anonymization

A photograph can reveal a face, number plate, address or location through visible pixels even when metadata containers are absent. Keep an original, inspect the output independently for sensitive work and review the destination's privacy settings. No selected image is sent to our server.

Common questions

Is this a lossless edit?

PNG pixels are re-encoded without JPEG-style lossy quality control, but profiles, metadata and browser color handling can differ from the original.

Does it remove every possible identifying fact?

No. The tool verifies its targeted container policy; it does not remove information visible in the picture or guarantee complete anonymity.
