PNG Images to Animated GIF
Create an animation from a sequence of at least two static PNG images. The input filter is set to PNG, while the working frame editor lets you reorder images and control their timing.
Preparing your workspace…
Plan how transparent frames will look
PNG frames can contain transparency, but this GIF workflow fits every frame onto a white canvas. Choose artwork that works on white or flatten it deliberately in your editor first. This page does not promise alpha-preserving GIF output.
Arrange and time the frames
Choose 2–60 images with a combined size up to 50 MiB and twenty megapixels. Move frames earlier or later, remove unwanted ones and set delays in 10ms steps. Total animation duration is capped at ten seconds. Choose a width up to 640px and a loop setting, then create and preview the GIF.
Expect a limited-color animation
GIF has a limited palette and may show banding in gradients or photographic scenes. Each frame is processed sequentially and the longest output edge is at most 640px. A GIF can be larger than the source images combined. Selected images stay local; cancel safely or use fewer frames if memory is limited.
Common questions
Can I make a GIF from one image?
This animation workflow needs at least two frames. A single static image is not an animated sequence.
Can I use a video instead?
Yes. Switch GIF source to Short MP4 video for the separately bounded H.264 MP4 workflow.
